PITTSBURGH -- After trading away Joe Musgrove and Jameson Taillon in January, the Pirates supplemented their rotation Tuesday by agreeing to a Major League deal with left-hander Tyler Anderson, according to a source, the day before the Bucs' pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training.
The club has not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical is valued at $2.5 million when finalized, per a source.
Anderson, 31, broke out in 2016 with the Rockies, recording a 3.54 ERA in 19 starts despite calling hitter-friendly Coors Park his home. Since then, he’s recorded a 5.02 ERA in 67 appearances (63 starts) over four seasons -- three with the Rockies, and last season with the Giants when he posted his second-best career ERA (4.37).
